CHISEL is an HCI & Design lab at LUMS working at the intersections of human–computer interaction, design, and social psychology. We design with and for communities at the margins in the global south, developing assistive technologies for mental health, learning disabilities, and elderly care.

The Role

We are looking for a Visual Designer to support our ongoing projects. You will own the visual narrative of our work, ranging from high-level design strategy and branding to UI design for our assistive tools and social media content. This role is based on-site at our lab at LUMS to foster a collaborative, participatory culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead visual design strategy and branding for research projects.
• Design intuitive user interfaces (UI) for assistive technology platforms.
• Create engaging social media posts and related visual assets.
• Collaborate with HCI researchers and developers to ensure design alignment with human-centered and participatory principles.

Requirements

• Education: A relevant design degree (e.g., Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or Interaction Design). This is a mandatory requirement; experience alone will not be considered.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of professional design experience.
• Portfolio: A strong portfolio demonstrating work across branding, UI, and digital assets.
